Hope for the Holidays

Holiday volunteers

This holiday season, the Kalesnikoff team adopted 51 families and provided gifts for 120 local seniors. We are beyond grateful for our employees and their contributions – both in terms of their donations and their volunteerism. Our team members donated $14,328 for the holiday campaign, which the Kalesnikoff family matched for a grand total of $28,656.

Local businesses also pitched in to help, with Blue Sky Clothing offering an incredible discount on cozy socks, Mountain Sky Soaps donating soaps as well as providing a generous discount, Mark’s in Castlegar providing a discount and donating toques, Walmart in Trail providing support, and Kootenay Market offering a discount and providing exceptional support as they do annually.

We joined with Salvation Army and the Castlegar and District Community Services Society (CDSS) to provide families in Castlegar and Nelson with food and provisions, holiday dinner and presents for the kids to open. We also partnered with the Castlegar Increasing Recreation Involving Seniors program and the Salvation Army to provide holiday gift bags for seniors.

Thank you to our employees and volunteers, to the businesses that helped out, to the children who made cards to share, to the community organizations that support those in need all through the year, and to everyone who spreads light and kindness in our community.
