Echolands Winery was created in 2018 by Brad Bergman and Doug Frost, two Kansas City residents who believed in the Walla Walla Valley AVA’s ability to offer a distinct style of wine, one that would benefit from aging. Doug Frost is a Master Sommelier and Master of Wine, one of only a few individuals in the world to hold both prestigious titles. The estate features a 27,000-square foot production facility and barrel room.
The landmark mass timber winery and tasting room at the top of the landscape is another distinction for the brand. The estate spans 341 acres at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 feet. This winery, fermentation area, and tasting room features a mass timber roof system consisting of 3-ply (4.125″) Douglas-fir cross laminated timber and Douglas-fir glulam beams. The structure is integrated with concrete tilt-up walls and provides a beautiful contrast of materials and workmanship.
This development underscores Echolands Winery’s commitment to sustainable practices and producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terrain of the Walla Walla Valley.
