Providing Mass Timber Solutions and Logistics
Baltic Pointe is Utah’s first commercial mass timber project – a 5-story mass timber office building on two levels of podium parking. Baltic Pointe will be the headquarters for Pelion Venture Partners and the showroom for HB Workplaces. Located off the I-15 corridor and at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, the occupants will enjoy all-wood exposed mass timber interiors. It will also host an expansive outdoor gathering space and a pickleball court.
The project includes a 5-story mass timber office building on two levels of podium parking. Construction materials include mass timber, Cross-laminated timber (CLT), and concrete rebar. Exterior materials include EIFS and metal panel, glazing and curtain wall with PVC roof membrane.
Kalesnikoff provided over 70 truckloads of mass timber (2,100 m3). With so many truckloads required, effective logistics coordination is paramount. Our team divided the loads into two zones and is preinstalling most of the beam hangers to hasten the on-site installation process. Kalesnikoff also spearheaded the clash detection and MEP integration processes and proposed solutions to facilitate a more efficient installation.
